It was last Saturday and the excitement was unbelievable. The kids were amped and ready to go. The car was packed and we were getting ready to head to North Wildwood for our 2014 beach trip with the cousins and aunts and uncles and Pop-Pop. Thats when I heard it. The croupy cough that that makes a mother shudder. Seamus. Ugh. And so it began. We started with a hot shower and lots of coughing and deep breathing and blowing of the snot-filled nose. Things started looking up. So, we decided to chance it and left. The car ride bagan and the coughing started, tissues were flying, and the cheeks became flushed. Seamus. Now Maya…..then Kieran. Ugh.
So we get to the shore house and then I heard it again. The cough. It was Catie. She said "aunt becca, I'm sick." She didn't look or really sound sick so I didn't really think too much of it. Until the next morning when Jen said to me. "Catie is sick too." It seemed as if all the cousins had somewhat of the same thing. However, the other ones seemed to be acting a little better than mine. My little ones were miserable. Not sleeping, crying, whining…just miserable. Therefore, Mommy was miserable. After a couple days of no sleep and whiny, crying babies, Kevin and I decided to pack it up and head for home. We did manage to get a couple happy shots of the kids. Snot and all.
